December SEL: Growth Mindset and the Meta Moment

During December, students are learning about Growth Mindset and how to take a "Meta Moment."  First students were introduced to The Meta Moment, a six step process to help deal with problems.  (Watch the video below to learn more about the Meta Moment.)  After explaining the Meta Moment, we read The Most Magnificent Thing. It is the story of the girl who sets out to make the most magnificent creation, but can't get it just the way she wants. Students were able to see her opportunities to use a meta moment and growth mindset.  At the end of the lesson, we watched a Class Dojo video (below) that explains the importance of growth mindset.
